AFIBER wins R&D security project Ministry of Economic Affairs

AFIBER has been selected to undertake a research and development project with regards to encrypted connectivity in mission critical network requirements to support innovation in the security domain.

Netherlands Enterprise Agency is a government agency which stimulates entrepreneurs in innovative and international business and operates under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.


The R&D project includes field research and validation with partners and customers to validate models and outcomes for further development and prototyping. It focuses on improving security from the fiber optic layer (network infrastructure) to optical transmission (hardware) and network management (software) components.


Added optical encryption provides a single encryption solution addressing all client types and protocols end-to-end with 100% throughput and low latency.

Primary aim of the research is to develop new methods and software between proprietary networks and equipment vendors creating flexible encrypted optical connections controlled by software delivering high bandwidth with low latency for mission critical environments.


Further development of associated technology and software enables future proof delivery of latest technology and security to markets and customers.
